The Dos and Don'ts of Using a Portable Power Bank

Pokemon Go, Spotify, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook—these are just some of the apps that many people use on their smart phones on a daily basis. While they are certainly entertaining and they do help pass the time, they also drain your battery faster than usual. If you're waiting for an important call or if you need to use your phone later on, using these apps early in the day can be a problem because you won't have any power left. But if you want to use these apps without having to worry about draining your phone's battery, you should get a portable powerbank.

Power banks kept your mobile devices fully charged. With these devices, you can use a wide range of applications without having to worry about missing calls because of a dead phone battery. But to ensure reliability and maximum efficiency, here are the dos and don'ts of using a power bank that you should follow.

Dos of Using a Power Bank
1. Do read the instruction
Make sure to read the instruction or user's manual prior to connecting the powerbank to your device to avoid damage to both power bank and smart phone.

2. Do use the right cable
The power bank comes with its own charging cable and make sure to use it every time you charge your device. Never use a substitute cable.

3. Do charge the power bank before using it for the first time
Most manufacturers recommend charging the power bank two to three times prior to using it for the first time to fully activate it.

4. Do charge your power bank even if you don't use it
To keep the power bank in good working condition, you should charge it at least once a month even if you don't use it.

Don'ts of Using a Power Bank
1. Don't charge devices with different charging specifications
Never use the power bank to charge electrical devices it is not designed to charge. Otherwise, it could potentially damage the external battery charger.

2. Don't expose the power bank to wet environment
Always make sure to keep the power bank in a cool, dry place. Never immerse it in liquids, chemicals, soap or detergent.

3. Don't disassemble the power bank on your own
If you're having problems with the device, refer to the user's manual. Don't disassemble, repair, or replace its parts without professional guidance.

4. Don't drop the power bank
The power bank contains a circuit board and other fragile components inside. Always make sure to handle it carefully. Don't drop or throw it.
