Dos and Don’ts when using and charging a Power Bank

If you’re constantly travelling and often use your mobile device, then you are probably aware that you need to use a power bank. Power banks are very handy to have if you are constantly on your phone and out camping or during your travels. Having a portable mobile battery charger will save you the troubles of having to worry about having a dead phone battery. However, if you wish to ensure that you are using the device correctly and safely, here are some dos and don’ts when using your portable power bank.

Dos and Don’ts you must understand and follow when using a power bank
Power Banks: Dos

1. Always read the instructions – When purchasing a portable power bank, we often ignore the instruction manual since we usually know the basics on why we purchased it in the first place. However it’s always best to make sure you read through it first in order to know the necessary safety precautions and instructions when using the power bank.

2. Always use the stock cable – Power banks always come with its own charging cable, it’s necessary to always use it and not try using a different one.

3. Fully charge the power bank – When using the power bank for the first time, fully charge the power bank first.  Repeat once the charge capacity has been depleted.

4. Charge the power bank even if it’s unused - Even if you have not used it for a couple of weeks it’s important to still charge it once a month in order to keep the power bank in good condition.

Power Banks: Don’ts

1. Don’t charge different devices – Never try to charge another electrical device that isn’t in the power banks manual or basic specifications. It may damage the portable power bank itself and even cause a short circuit which may permanently damage it.

2. Keep out of wet environment – Always store the power bank in a cool and dry place to avoid any humid or fluids from entering its connection ports.

3. Never disassemble the power bank – If you do experience trouble using the power bank, its best to first refer to the manual. If the problem still occurs then take it to the manufacturer and have them take a look.

4. Try not to drop the power bank – Power banks contain a circuit board with fragile components that can be altered by a sudden impact. It’s important to always handle it with care and try not to drop it at all costs.

Portable power banks are very useful and are one of the best technologies developed to be in partner with our phones. With these in mind handling a power bank will be an easy task and will provide you dependent quality charges for your device.
